This weekend, the boy took me to Gatlinburg for my belated birthday gift. I had never been before, but always heard about it, so I wanted to see for myself. The drive up was gorgeous and reminded me of how much I love and miss the mountains (they're close, but I just don't go as much as i'd like). We got in late Friday night and had a quick dinner and a walk around downtown. It is definitely a tourist town and reminded me a lot of Ocean City and Myrtle Beach.
The next morning we had a quick breakfast at one of the 1,000 pancake houses between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I swear there is one every block. We fueled up for our day at....DOLLYWOOD!

Honestly, after doing Disneyworld this past Spring, Dollywood was a nice breather. The rides were fun, but we had a great time just people watching and going into the little shops.
We finished off our day traveling up to Kodak, TN to go to a Smokies baseball game. If you're a regular reader you know that minor league baseball games are kind of our thing. We couldn't miss out on one that was so close!

Sunday morning, before heading back, we took a quick trip up to Ober Gatlinburg. The sites from the aerial tram were incredible. The pictures really don't do it justice!
Overall, we had a fantastic trip with way too much delicious food and fun activities.
Now, back to the grind!
