As a birthday surprise back in August, the boyfriend got tickets to the VT homecoming game this past weekend. One of my best friend's from college lives in Roanoke so we were able to make a wonderful weekend of seeing my Hokies kick some butt on the field and spend some much needed time with her!
My friend's family was also in town to celebrate her dad's birthday, which was a nice treat to get to see them!
As any "hardcore" Hokie fan knows, we start tailgating early in the morning on Game Day. Since we're alumni now, we abbreviated that early morning to ~9am. It was so fun to walk around my old campus with the smell of Hokie football in the air!
*side note: The boy thought it would be hilarious to throw a water bottle into the picture and it was captured at just the right moment.

It was so neat to be back in the stand again at my Alma Mater and the boy got AMAZING seats! Enter Sandman still gives me chills. Luckily, the team played pretty well, which was an even better birthday treat!
The rest of the weekend passed quickly with more family/friend time. We even got the chance to go see my grandma on the way back to Greenville. Spending time with that lady always reminds me where I got my sass from.
Sunday came to an end with lots more football (especially the Bears) and a cookout at the boyfriend's parent's house.
Here's to a great week ahead! Happy Monday!
