It felt perfect on this beautiful Fourth of July to celebrate Freedom by taking my bike for its first ride since purchase and tune up! Here in Greenville we are lucky enough to have a fantastic bike trail known as the Swamp Rabbit (http://greenvillerec.com/swamprabbit). It encompasses around 17.5 miles from Travelers Rest, SC to Greenville Tech just south of the city. The trail also has a padded portion of the trail similar to track material for runners!
We decided to start at the Caine Halter YMCA and go up to and around Furman University.

Furman University has a beautiful lake with a portion of the trail around it.
We covered about 19 miles overall and had a great time. My bike did great and I really enjoyed being able to get out in the city!
We also stopped at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery, which is located right along side of the trail (http://swamprabbitcafe.com/). It boasts local food and has so many delicious options. The bf got a local, grass-fed burger while I got a turkey and provolone sandwich with roasted squash. All of it was fantastic, but the squash was INCREDIBLE. I will absolutely try to remake this at home (i'll let you all know how it goes).

A wonderful start to the celebrations for the day!
