…and everybody being different is a good thing! So often I get the statement from a client that their friend lost a bunch of weight on Atkins, but they haven’t had success on the diet or that they are frustrated that they haven’t lost weight doing Crossfit 4x/wk. I have to remind everyone that each body is a little different and what works for one might not work for another. Our bodies are trial and error just like other things in life and we have to treat them with kindness as we try to decipher what meal plans and exercises are best for each of us specifically.
I can generally claim that consuming a variety of complex carbohydrates, lean protein and healthy fats will help one improve health and potentially lose weight. However, I won’t swear by you eliminating dairy because I read a blog about how it helped one woman get rid of her seasonal allergies. And I won’t tell you that everyone should be a runner because it’s the only way to get in shape since I like to run. Listen to your body and try different meal plans and eating styles to figure out what fuels your body best and improves your health. Try a variety of exercises and see what workout routine really energizes and allows you to make gains in toning, leanness or muscle strength.
All in all, love your body and allow your body to love you back! If you listen and pay attention to how your body communicates, you can find a great balance of enjoying a happy, healthy life!
